HAMATO LEONARDO 花は桜木人は武士.

Teenage mutant ninja turtle. Eldest of four; heir to the Hamato clan. Practitioner of ninjutsu and skilled in dual wielding. A warrior and tactician bound by the rules of bushido -- within reason, however Leonardo may claim to the contrary. Frustrated with what he perceives as a lazy, unmotivated atmosphere in the castle, Leonardo finds it difficult to place his trust in Ozuma's warriors. He has taken to solo operations or those conducted with a select few, trusted allies. In attempting to provide the counterbalance for this world's relaxed tone, Leonardo is rarely taken in by conversations that deviate from business.

RIN TOHSAKA That's your fairytale. This is your castle.

A human mage with spectacular talent and a sharp mind. Rin was the first inhabitant of the castle Leonardo made contact with, quickly establishing herself as one of the most competent and driven people in this world. Though blunt at times, teasing at others, Rin has displayed kindness and consideration to Leonardo, and her skills in magic are a boon on the battlefield. Rin remains one of Leo's few trusted contacts both as a pragmatic ally and as a personable figure, and Leonardo finds himself drawn to her natural confidence. Just as importantly, Rin's presence in the castle assuages many of his own frustrations regarding perceived ineptitude of Ozuma and his chosen warriors. With Rin having been turned into a shade by the Queen, Leonardo feels that he's failed her as a teammate and ally. Though he played a part in returning her to normal, Leo is maintaining a friendly but polite distance as an acknowledgment of his error.

SANS THE SKELETON The thing about skeletons, you never know when they're smiling.

A strange being from another world capable of using magic. Lazy, inopportunistic, unmotivated, and judgmental. Worse sense of humor than Michelangelo. Also purportedly brilliant and exceedingly capable - both traits Leonardo has only scratched the surface of in his own interactions with Sans. Leo is hestiant to rely on him, but recognizes the skeleton as the kind of person who will come to bat for his friends, making him worth respect in his own right and a resource to call on when there's a vested interest to motivate him.
